Awesome to see a switched on future President of the Unites States, she will be a breath of fresh air to a crazy world. Who would have thunk that she was into the premiere F1 sport that we all love. Ricciardo is a sudo American, he has a home there, so maybe she might find a position for him. Director for Motor Sport sounds good.09-10-2024 12:23

Unfortunately Dan has never been able to duplicate the setup he had with RB. I (and others) would really love to see Ricciardo in the RB chassis and wring its neck like he used to.02-10-2024 04:01

So here's the thing, Ricciardo's racing style is clearly suited to the RB chassis, with evidence of his hot lap at Silverstone last year, and since leaving RB he has had to try and adapt to the Renault chassis, the MCL chassis (which is nothing like the RB), and then pushed into improving and developing the RBR chassis for RB. Dan's still got the ability and the drive to succeed with the right chase under him, so Ricciardo should take the lifeline that Horner is proposing (with an out clause if another team realises his potential) and wait to see how the cards unfold. Checo is saying "he is going nowhere", but deep down he wants to go and play with the kids. If Checo continues with his rollercoaster performance (as he has been), he will be replaced by Lawson or Ricciardo very quick. Maybe he should just announce his retirement at the Mexican Grand Prix to save face.01-10-2024 23:45

Since Dan took over the RB last year he has been giving valuable feedback to the team that they were not getting from De Vries or Yuki, and the team have said so and appreciated it. Dan's experience has been helping to develop the car, which Yuki has also benefited from. Where were Alpha Taurie at the beginning last year?, back of the pack. If you look at the later part of this season Dan was beating Yuki sometimes in qualy but mostly in the races, plus he has been the victim of some very poor strategy calls of late. Marko has been on a vendetta to get rid of "Horner's man" and he finally won. The sooner Marko retires from the organisation and leave it to Horner, the better. Christian's decision making is far better than Marko's. Remember Helmut touted De Vries as the next Verstappen?, great decision.27-09-2024 01:49

Marko has totally screwed Ricciardo over, firstly expecting him to shine while developing a car for them, which he did successfully to get them higher up the grid, but the RB was nowhere as good as the RBR and others up the grid. Dan pledges his soul to RBR and did not look elsewhere, so as soon as all of the vacant seats got filled (except for Sauber) Marko wields the axe, knowing that Dan has no other options. Well done Helmut, you have shown your true colours. Dan still has the ability to still do well in F1, so let's hope someone else picks him up, even if Dan has to take a year off.26-09-2024 23:50

Unlike Checo, Dan's driving style is similar to Max's and likes a front end car, hence the reason why Dan put such a good time in at the Silverstone test last year. If RBR want to win the Constructors title then they need to put Ricciardo int that 2nd RBR seat. When Dan move to VCARB last year he has been developing that car into his own style, and hats off to RB for doing so, with the result of getting them from last in the Constructors to a good middle of the pack car. I'm sure Horner has kept Dan at RB as a "lady in waiting" for not if, but when Checo falters again. If Checo stays mediocre till the Mexico GP they'll probably flick him then and put Dan in (Checo hats will be half price). Horner will be doing his sums race by race to make sure they get the Constructors title, so it shouldn't be long before we see Dan back in the car that he deserves.01-08-2024 13:02

RBR have done everything they can to help Checo stay in that second seat, extend his contact so there is no pressure, give him assurances that he is there for the long run, and give him an equal car to Max, so in short, they have done the right thing as a responsible team. Checo unfortunately has been consistently waaaay behind Max in almost every race. So we get to the last race before the summer break and he qualifies well, gets second spot for a huge chance to redeem himself, and then blows it with the usual Checo inconsistancy and slow times. With Dan showing the fighting spirit working his way up the pack today, RBR would be crazy not to give Dan a go at the 2nd seat for the rest of the year, to ensure RBR don't lose the Constructors title, which would be a huge ego hit, not only for Horner but the hundreds in the background working hard to keep the team at the front. Checo, you're fired.29-07-2024 02:55

Ricciardo is the only choice for that 2nd seat, as the chances of Checo scoring those 100 points are very slim. Yuki will eventually be off to Honda, and Lawson will be good for the future, so he is better off with the RB gig for the moment, or he might face the same fate as Gasly and Albon. It would be embarrassing for RBR to miss out on the Constructors and win the Drivers. Dan bleeds Red Bull blood so he will make sure he will be a good rear gunner for Max and will respect Max's position out front. I am sure Checo is currently making a few serious phone calls across the grid.18-07-2024 13:18

Give RBR their dues, they are alway supportive of their drivers and give them every chance to prove they deserve to be in the seat they occupy, but Christian knows he can't keep putting his arm around Checo and not score points. The RBR ego would not handle Max winning the Drivers and RBR coming 2nd or 3rd in the Constructors, so unfortunately it's crunch time. Ricciardo should be able to catch up on those urgently needed points, once he puts his backside in a chassis that suites him.15-07-2024 14:00

You guys don't get it, RBR's pride is on the line here, to win the Drivers and not the Constructors would be a huge hit to the ego of a team that has dominated for the last 3 years, and the Constructors would also give you the No1 Box on the grid for 2025. They were happy to take the 30 million from Mexico whilst ever Checo was keeping the points up, but has not been able to, hence the Constructors is now at risk for RBR. Putting Ricciardo into that 2nd RBR seat is the only option to get back on track.14-07-2024 01:41
